Tracking done by Mr Oz and it feels so much better. Could be something to do with the loose nuts😳

Took the branded SU oil out of the the dashpot and replaced with ordinary engine oil

resulting in a surprising improvement in engine pickup.

SU oil seems too thin for my 998 with stage 1.

Finally got all my minis together, only took 6 years to get a proper roof. 😁

Now I need to sort through 22 years of stuff and finish building the workshop, shouldn't take long. 😅

Oh, and sort out the wife's servo on the 2000 Cooper in the 'normal' garage. 😁

Vacation is paying ;)

Did some welding on Toto, the big project, and start to think about the front repairs (last big job).

Chased some gremlins from Frankie. Last night on a test drive, no center speedo lights worked. Happened to be a bad connection (the only part of the wiring loom I did not check)

Built the front super bumper and the hubcaps back on just for the style.

Still some small jobs to be done but it's ready for the Mini Beer and Brezel meeting next weekend. Counting the days :)

Cheers

Gilles

Fixed the throttle cable which was catching on the bulkhead (thanks to previous posters recommending the bicycle brake adjuster - works a treat). Can now drive down the road without the engine revving like mad between shifts. 👍🏻

Fitted a twin box centre exit maniflow, then took it for the compulsory test drive, very happy with it.

Then when I got home I removed the sunroof glass to fill the seal ends with silicone, hopefully will sort the leak out

Started fitting the auxiallary fan as the second stage to making it run cooler after fitting the wing mounted duct.
ECU run so hopefully plug and play. Very reasonable from David at WBW

Took the tank out to replace both rear shocks and there was something pretty solid rolling around in the tank. So once emptied I took the level sender out and found what looks to be the back of a filler cap. I'd say someone in the past has either lost the key to it or tried to steal the petrol. Went for a drive the other day (first good drive in 8 years) and it all of a sudden was starved of fuel so I would say this probably rolled over the outlet and blocked it enough to stop. Quick splash of fuel must've dislodged it enough to get it going again. Funny when you know no history of the vehicle
