Passed mot. After I sorted hazards and fog light

Went for a cracking solo drive in the sunshine enjoying every minute. Everything was working all at the same time!

Saw some other classics and exchanged waves, and got some smiles and waves from pedestrians, but as usual didn't see any other classic Minis.

Fitted twin Facet electric fuel pumps to my 1990 Cooper road-rally car. Completed all the new piping, inc. removing the tank to fit new fuel hose. Pumps are piped in parallel and bolted to the rear seat base panel inside the sub-frame profile.

Now just got to wire them, independently switched, relayed and fused, for maximum reliability.

After that got to make and fit an aluminium pump shield from 2 mm sheet.

Just dropped to PUP back up the paintshop. 1 wing looked a bit naff and a couple of inevitable marks from 2 years in the garage putting it back together.
So time to tidy the garage

Went on the weekend from Alsace to Paris by train to collect my new wheels (and meet friends).

Really glad I have a Mini with 10", one can pack all 4 in a 60L rucksack  .

I just had to take the spare wheel by hand...

 

They have a huge positive offset, I will measure it, but the logo sticks out of the rim. Pretty sure they fit a Mini without arches :)

Maybe they also rub on the dampers or the wings...

Cleaned and checked over the 1964 'S' rally car.
Then finished the wiring on the 1990 road-rally/ targa-rally 1999 Cooper and started the rebuilt engine for the first time in a while. It runs beautifully.

Went for a run out to the bridge where the Great Train Robbers held up the train in Buckinghamshire.

Got mine out from under the winter covers last night, fired him up and took him for a run for 30 mins, felt like an age since i'd been behind the wheel.

 

The MOT is booked for next week so it'll be back into more regular weekend use after that

Took the GT for an early morning blast round the leafy lanes of Cheshire, followed by a Maccies breakfast, don't tell the Mrs lol

Had to clear the drive for the tree surgeons to get access so took the opportunity  to take a quick blast in the mini. Went to the local motor factors to get some fuel hose after finding my Commer camper dribbling petrol all over the drive  ethanol strikes again. Nice to be out in the car but why is it that every knob in a white van seem to break their neck to get past when I'm in the mini, never happens in the Commer maybe they're scared I'll out drag them

Replaced the MPI Coopers exhaust system with LCB, De-Cat and maniflow rear section, went to do oil change and discovered the rocker gasket superglued to the cover !

Can an MPI Mini pass an MOT without a Cat?  (or are you planning on putting it back on come MOT time) ?

When the vin is input it says cat or non cat test.No visible cat is a fail.Steve..
