Well, I replaced the directional lights switch on the steering column with one from MiniMania (Mini Spares brand) today. To my surprise, it probably has been the most straightforward repair on the Mini yet. No contortions, scrapes, cuts nor bleeding. Everything came apart easily and went back together the same way. Everything worked properly afterwards. The only thing that I had to redo, was to replace the white wire tie I used to secure the wiring to the steering column with a black one, like the original. The white one glared in the dark foot well.

Replaced the distributor oil seal hopefully to cure the small oil leak in that area, also replaced the rotor arm and reset the timing (thanks Ben_0 for highlighting the timing marks)

Treated it to a 500 mile round trip to brands hatch over the weekend, it drove well with all the rain, found out the hard way the sunroof leaks though lol

Fighting for two day to replace the four brake hoses. Just finished removing the first one (right front). Had to finish with a drill and a dremel grinder.

I cut a hole to access the front right brake connecting banjo. Now wondering if I should close it with a piece of glass and add LEDs behind, like a gamer computer case…

When I finished this side, I thought the left one would be easy: in fact it's much more difficult! Ended up killing both threads (of the new hose and old pipe). Guess who need to order a new set of front braided hoses and a front bridging pipe? Being in France, it's even worst: have to wait at least a week.

Earlier this week I fitted a new boot seal, as the one on there was just some random material glued in by the previous owner. I'm on my way now to tighten the e-brake cables.

Big thanks to Mr Wired by Wilson who finished off the electrics for me today and made sure everything is tickityboo.
Just the brakes to get sorted and a test run might be in order......
