Reconnected float chamber after it fell off whilst driving due to nut coming loose! Found and reattached metal connecting bracket wedged at back of subframe - it could so easily have bounced down the road...

Not with this one but a couple of friends have asked for one so I might look at giving it a go.

Is the bracket cut from aluminium alloy?

Yes, some scrap that I had lying around ;-) (after having tried stainless steel first).

Probably best to keep a close eye on it in case of cracking of the alloy. If it fails, with the fan running, it may puncture the radiator.

Started her up & pulled her out of the garage after around 2 years of being sat in there.

I’ve missed that noise!

Been putting off changing the rear subframe front mounts for 6 months but bit the bullet, all went easy all the bolts came out easy. I don't know why the Haynes manual wants the shocks out and therefore tank out as I easily managed to get the radius arms pulled forward enough out of the shocks and subframe to get a spanner on the pin nut, all went back just as easily and now no more clonking for a good while.

Replaced the left hand side motor mount which went very well indeed.

Had the plan to replace the suspension cones and dampers. Starting on the front ones both sides presented their individual challenges and I run out of time before I could do the rear ones O_O .

It has been worthwhile though
