Had the rear bearings replaced with tapered roller type as the original ball bearings were starting make noise. While at the shop. had them undercoat the whole car with Fluid Film. I found it on sale by the Gallon at a local store and brought my mechanic the whole can. He only needed about 1/10th of the can and asked to keep rest for other cars he wants to use it on. I said "that's fine, just don't charge me for the next ten applications I get over next decade "

Welded in the drivers side doorstep / a pillar, fairly painless process for a change, did have to stick my reading glasses on to my head with insulation tape to stop them falling off when I'd got the welding mask on though!

Removed all the glass and the dash in order to get at the rust and asses just how bad it is, next stepp is either the subframes or cut out and replace the floor. god this is turning into a deep rabbit hole lol I was only going to clean it up and drive but it is fast becomming more than that, worryingly the wife now thinks I shold do a full resto and is talking shot blasting and crazy things like that. I thought she had been upto no good and was feeling guilty but it turns out she sees this as a trial run for when she gets a willy's or Bronco :)

Freed off a locked solid rear drum brake. Last journey was bringing the mini up to our new house and it was pi55ing down, flooded roads on the way here. Inside the drum was pretty rusty once I managed to get it off. Quick rub with wet and dry inside the drum and the shoes and all good again. I should really repeat the process on the other 3 corners.
