Front subby on. Car back on the ground
Looking good, has lowering the car back down fixed your door issue?

Took the fuel tank out before I start grinding (I live in a wooden house). I am discovering just what a poor job someone made of deseaming this car

Replaced the leaking heater tap on the head. And wouldn't you know it the heater control wire pulled out of the knob shaft. Luckily I had another one which had done the same and I had welded the wire to the shaft, so that went in and all works well. Whoever thinks pressing a soft steel shaft onto a spring steel wire without any indents in the wire has absolutely no idea.
Also fitted a standard oil pressure relief plunger and spring. The S type ball and spring was blowing off at about 80psi and reaching almost 100psi cold. Just a bit much perhaps. The standard one is blowing off at the correct 60psi by the guage.

Now the engine is run in, I took the GT for a blast along some 70 MPH roads and suprised myself and a few other cars as I blasted past them, the engine is so smooth and pulls so well.
Also got lots of compliments and smiles along the way, but the biggest smile was on my face

Great isn't it? I experienced exactly the same thing myself today - so many smiles from everyone at a time when people really need cheering up.
Amazing fun to be had from these little cars, mines a lot slower being an 850 but my solution was just foot to the floor on the faster stretches! Challenging and engaging trying to maintain the legal limit but she whizzed along so smoothly once up in the higher rev range!

Engine is a 998 A+ on a DAM5626 box, stage 1 kit with RC40, AAU Needle currently fitted, I have been advised on the forum to try an AAM needle. CO is set to 0.76 (tried richening 1 turn but hasn't made a difference)
Do I need to try another richer needle or is it a setting issue?
