I finished painting the black roof on my Grandson, Cooperkid's, replica 998 Cooper based on a 1986 998 Mayfair. Lovely finish, but on red cars I always paint the roof white - first time I've done a black one. The red is not Tartan Red, it's Ford Radiant Red which is a slightly brighter colour. It'll have blackn G'p 2 wheel arch extensions and 10" Exacton wheels (from a Mini 1100 Special) painted gold.

Start the main body painting next week.

Continued with the forever job of wire brushing/treating/removing rust. Everyday brings a little more shiny metal.

Checked the trikehome wasn't leaking onto the Mini then went back in the garage to carry on with the Minor Traveller resto.

That would have to come off every time I had to top up the oil, or else it wouldn't stay shiny for long.

Think I have found the source of the nasty gear box whine.

3rd motion shaft bearing (big one on the left) doesn't feel particularly sooth.
