Started the Mk1 having been sat in the garage basically all winter, brought it out of the garage and let it tick over up to normal working temperature. Took it a little run up the street to give the brakes, clutch and gears a chance to operate. Back to the driveway, washed and waxed with Collinite 845. Looks amazing again.  :D

Wish I could actually take it somewhere!

Continued with stripping back the underside of the boot floor/rear arches, fed-up getting covered in rust and dust.

Finally got round to removing, washing (they came up well after a 'Dark Wash' cycle in the machine) and replacing my grubby seat covers. It's a fiddly job to do but looks much better for it.

This lockdown palaver has some benefits!

Fiat Seicento, Rich. I got one complete interior for £20 and another for £30.

They don't weigh much more than the standard MPi seats, unlike many of the other seats used in Minis. They're comfortable and grip you well.

Even an old fart, like me, can climb out after a 200+ mile run and walk upright, without groaning.

They tilt forward on a spring, tucking the front into the footwell, so the headrest doesn't hit the headlining or the window, allowing easy access to the rear.

I used the panels from the Fiat rears to replace the tired MPi panels in mine to match.

IMO the cloth design doesn't look as dated as the MPi material did, which is a bonus.

Took a bit of fettling to get them to fit well, but anyone who's worked on Mini bodywork will be used to that.

Thanks for that, I've been looking at a few different modern seats from smaller cars but never came across those.

First MOT for many years, and he passed with full colours. Really chuffed after 18months of saving this lovely BOC.

Thought I'd prepped everything for mot but failed on rear brakes.

On a positive note Japanese tinted wind deflectors arrived this morning. duly fitted ? loving the look

New tyres on, bulkhead soundproofed, interior now finished.

Stood back and gazed lovingly

Finally got around to splitting the gear linkage and replacing the oil seal which has dripped since we got the car. while up on the lift and drained of oil, changed oil & filter and fitted a new y-piece on the exhaust. its now apparent that new sills will be needed at some point - I predict another extended period off the road to do that and the front wings. :(
