Hi Indy495, have you added the boot lid inner or did the Balmoral come with it?

Mrs wanted a lift into town for a lunch with her mates. Sure, I'll take the mini as it needs a run and put fresh fuel in it.
Got into an argument as she was running late and expected I was going to buy petrol on the way back. I wasn't.

Oil and filter change. Drained coolant, refitted the mech fan (took it off last year when I fitted the electric kit (that's what the instructions told me to do)) and whilst cooling system drained fitted a std 88deg thermostat as it had the earlier 82deg in perviously. Refilled with correct water, antifreeze and water wetter mix.

Lapped in and shimmed my first balljoints!

I spent a few hours struggling with one yesterday, then gave up and came for a read up on the forum with a brew.

Some brilliant advice from long time regulars digested, and today they went together easily.

Lapping them really helps.

Thanks for the help guys  :highfive:

Still fighting the RH tank.  The seam flanges around the perimeter of the tank are too 'tall'.  Going after them with a belt sander tonight.  Steering wheel fitted and it looks great!

(over the weekend)

disassembled, cleaned, derusted, painted my center speedometer.

And made a new gasket out of 3D-prototyping (yes it's plastic, but a soft one), will do the trick I hope.

Now waiting for the paint to dry and then it's reassemblw time!
