We had an issue where the car would drain the reservoir but if I filled it back up the pedal is still perfect, the servo was dry the cap was changed a few times.
Dohhhhh, what an idiot I am What you said is of course true - where else would the fluid come from except the master cylinder, I was thinking remote servos not the type fitted to late Minis like mine
Change the master cylinder too, had this on our 88 998 MayfairTook delivery of a new brake servo. Had a bit of a nasty experience the other night on the way home from a pub meal when the brakes went a bit strange. Checked the fluid level the next morning and it was empty Went round all the cylinders and pipes with no sign of a leak - pulled the vac pipe off the manifold and brake fluid dripped out, probably the cause of the slight burny exhaust smell I get with the windows open. New servo to be fitted tomorrow.
Took the old servo off
A bit damp in there
This is about half of what came out
The master cylinder is weeping ever so slightly at the back seal but I'll need to move the car around tomorrow and will order a new master next week
OOOOO shiny
Isn't the bottom fixing nut interesting to get back on
We never did find the issue but replaced the master cylinder with a new one and it's been perfect since
Sounds familiar, new one should be arriving today.
