The radiator has a hairline crack where the bottom hose takeoff is welded on

Not on the mini, but for the mini.
Finally got round to buying some co2/argon mix and a welder to practice with.
Turns out if you actually open the regulator the welds look so much better! Who knew?

Change the master cylinder too, had this on our 88 998 MayfairTook delivery of a new brake servo. Had a bit of a nasty experience the other night on the way home from a pub meal when the brakes went a bit strange. Checked the fluid level the next morning and it was empty Went round all the cylinders and pipes with no sign of a leak - pulled the vac pipe off the manifold and brake fluid dripped out, probably the cause of the slight burny exhaust smell I get with the windows open. New servo to be fitted tomorrow.
Dohhhhh, what an idiot I am What you said is of course true - where else would the fluid come from except the master cylinder, I was thinking remote servos not the type fitted to late Minis like mine
Took the old servo off
A bit damp in there
This is about half of what came out
The master cylinder is weeping ever so slightly at the back seal but I'll need to move the car around tomorrow and will order a new master next week
OOOOO shiny
Isn't the bottom fixing nut interesting to get back on

Fitted new door seals and also fitted seat extenders, next job is to establish why the seat locking doesn't work

With the seat position extenders the locking latch on the seat can be too far back to engage on the bar on the floor. I have to push the seat forward to engage the locking mechanism then push it back to it full travel, trouble is if you tilt the seat forward the latch misses the bar again when you drop the seat.

Today I made this, A piece of foam cut to suit my spare wheel that holds a (cut down to fit) breaker bar, a socket to fit the alloy wheel nuts, a socket to fit the steel wheel nuts, locking wheel nut socket, and 4 steel wheel nuts. Just need to paint the wheel now.
and doesn't fall out when upside down

We had an issue where the car would drain the reservoir but if I filled it back up the pedal is still perfect, the servo was dry the cap was changed a few times.Dohhhhh, what an idiot I am What you said is of course true - where else would the fluid come from except the master cylinder, I was thinking remote servos not the type fitted to late Minis like mine

We never did find the issue but replaced the master cylinder with a new one and it's been perfect since ?

Think I’ve found myself a Mini friendly tester!

Put it back on trickle charge in the garage after leaving it off a few days (as they recommend you don't keep them on 24/7 lol). Doing a run to the Cotswolds in it on the 24th-25th---looking forward to taking it out!
