Apart from taking it for a nice drive and a wash and wax, I changed the two-clock instrument set for a triple. It's nice now to have a rev counter.

Fitted the motor today, just making sure it all fits as it should...... bonnet won’t close, fouls on carb.
No biggie, started mocking up where my hoses for the front mount radiator will run and need to make brackets, cable ties and a cardboard box just won’t do haha

Thought Stuart normally skims a bit off the top and replaces the wing nut for clearance. I asked him to leave mine alone as i extended the top of the bonnet a tad.

To be fair, Stuart was lacking in a few areas, his 12 day payment to post time became almost 7 weeks, with quite a few parts not even sent.Thought Stuart normally skims a bit off the top and replaces the wing nut for clearance. When I contacted him about it, he told me that he would, and has sent them.... 6 weeks later and nothing.
Given up on him.

Tomorrow I have to perform some 'keyhole surgery' on my Cooper 'S'. One of the trapped nuts in the heelboard has stripped and I don't want to disturb the sub-frame. I shall cut a small rectangular hole about 3" x 2" in the rear of the sill to gain access, then fit a longer 3/8" UNF bolt, screw a new nut onto the bolt, leaving the stripped trapped nut in place, weld the new nut onto the old nut then weld the piece I cut out back in. I'll linish it smooth, prime it and paint it. Then blow a load of Waxoyl into the end of the sill to protect it.
