was being nice to the car and washed it, goin 2 go for a drive, but then it just kept turning over, turned it off but still was turning over and i was like O: ive *insert word here*.

was goin threw what it all could be, for a bit i thought it was the ignition barrel, so disconnected the startermotor, turn the key to the II and the radio lights and so on worked. so it wasnt the ignition barrel

so after a bit of hmmming and haaaing, had a look at the startermotor and looked at the solenoid.

so long story short the solenoid was stuck on therefore when the battery was connect it was turning over without the key

on the bright side if i had a new car, you wouldnt have a hope to fix it

went for a drive, drove lovely, didnt miss a beat

(:

Played around with the pressure relief valve so I had a more reasonable amount of oil pressure while cranking. It was up near 100psim, but it’s not down to a more reasonable 60psi. So hopefully it won’t be long before I can safely start it for the first time.

I also bleed up my front brakes, as a bonus my £10 second-hand metro 4 pots are fully working. Just need to find a replacement master cylinder so I can have some rear bakes as well now.

My shim-shim-shim noise coming from the brakes was actually the CV boot clip fouling slightly on the hub's inner. Sorted now, too wet to go for a drive today for the sake of it though :)

finished fixing it, and took it for a drive down some muddy country lanes, got it filthy, drove through a puddle and it cut out, so as i was spraying the wd40 about, i heard a pheasent grunting at me, which then proceeded to attacking my wheels, then chased me around the mini, then chasing and attacking the mini as i drove off, my friend were in stitches laughing :-

Checked the play in the selector rod and found out my oil seals for the selector right side driveshaft. Washed the underneath of the car and hoovered the inside. Last of all put my new mini sport mats in and put it to bed :-
