Spent most of Sunday fitting engine bay bulkhead soundproofing.
Simples, make a cardboard template, cut the mini Spares material to the shape needed and all of the appropriate holes etc and fit.
What a bloddy nightmare. Give me oily bits of metal anytime.

Had a problem with the lights last night, no headlights or main beam just the glimmer of side lights and headlights on half power. Turned out to be the (new) switch - had it to bits and the grease had set like wax insulating the contacts. A quick scrape with a screw driver had them working nice and bright.

I got my mini back today after it being at the resprayers for 2 days. I had the front drivers side wing and both rear quarter panels treated, lacquered and resprayed (also the drivers door done as well where paint bubbled).

Flushed out the heater matrix, removed the heater bypass valve (because it was stuck closed, so now my heater is permanently on) flushed the complete cooling system. Fitted new radiator (Ebay bargain). Fitted new thermostat. Filled with coolant/antifreeze... Still have no heat into cabin..... Dunno what else I can do to resolve it....

Are you sure you have got all the airlocks out of the heater pipework?

Yep 100% sure...
That was my thoughts too, I rigged up the pipework in such a way that when disconnected from the hose, it wouldn't get any airlocks, especially in the heater matrix....
Could do with a coolant pipework map to see Iv got everything connected as it should be... and all pipes are connected the right way round etc....

The first thing to test is the temp of the heater pipes. Are they both hot for all their length? The cylinder head pipe goes to the top of the matrix.

The heater pipes, 1 gets hot-ish the other is barely warm..... which usually indicates an airlock... but I guarantee that there isnt...
I was going to have a play around with it again today but it started raining ruddy ice so decided to talk to the wife instead.... I'll have a play again tomorrow as I need it for Monday morning, otherwise it'll get a tad cold on me journey LOL
