Pulled my carpet out. Bit damp. Was also changing my window winders and snapped a screw in the mechanism. Nightmare, gonna need to get someone to drill it out and then tap it for me. Damn it.

I too pulled all my carpet out to give it a good clean, a bit damp too. But the floor and sills were all lovely with no signs of repairs whatsoever, unlike my other mini which is currently having work done

Also fitted some smaller standard seats as the ones that were in there were so high because of the custom subframes.

Slapped DynoMatt (cheap equivalent) all over the bulkhead, behind the dash.

Have you had a chance to see/hear if it makes much difference?

Stripped one side of the suspension to get the cone out. All pretty good except damper is not dampening anything  :shy:

and the cone is dead

What a swine that back bolt is on the retaining plate is to get to :mmkay:

Upper arm and bearings are like new :D

List of stuff has been compiled for the Minispares order.

Finally finished painting my group 2 arches!
After rubbing down, 3 coats of primer, more rubbing down, 4 coats of gloss black, followed by 2 coats of metallic black base coat, more rubbing down & finally 2 coats of clear coat........ I am very much chuffed with the results.
Goes to show preparation & patience is the key to a good finish to painting.

The final base coat is SAAB Jet Black that I had left over in the garage. It's a very subtle metallic black but when it catches the sunlight it looks awesome!

Not yet. Will put back together tomorrow and let you know. I imagine it will. I did the front floor and put a layer of rubber underlay down and it really helped a lot.

New doughnuts, dampers etc arrived from Minispares at half one this afternoon.

Old Vs new

By five o'clock I had the passenger side done and the drivers side in bits, cleaned up and the upper arm painted ready to finish off tomorrow.

Bit of a difference

I've actually got some suspension movement now, hopefully the height will settle a bit when driven - the front's got a bit of a Gasser look about it just now :shy:

Attempted to remove the rear subframe, managed to get 1 of 4 of the boot bolts out (and that was by cutting the nut off!).

Going to need a dremel.
