have you set the distributor TDC?( I am sure you have) turn it a few degreesclockwise and tighten it again, then try and start.ALMOST got him running! (turns over but just won't start. after another charge of the battery he sounded like he fired briefly but just didn't quite make it!) think he needs a jump/push start but i can't get him off the bloody stone driveway myself haha.
sorry to be an amatuer what does TDC mean? i'll give this a whirl

Waste of time off work though the wife was happy she got me to redecorate our front room:(
Today however the weather wasn't too bad and I got both door seals replaced and both rear quarter light window seals replaced, then lifted the carpet and stuffed it in our wheely bin ( beige carpet covered in rusty water when the heater matrix popped).
Dried the floor and will order new "black" carpet shortly.
Sorted out the air lock in the heater and fixed the drivers door lock.
Wanted to do more but the wife wanted hers fixing so had to replace the drivers seat belt in her focus.
What can I do tomorrow now

Went to local Mini specialist and purchased radius arm pins, rubbers for subframe and few other bits, on way home turned around went back and bought the adjustable camber and toe brackets I forgot the first trip.
Then spent a while cutting away bits of rusty metal and making up cardboard templates to help cut the steel replacement sections which I'll be working on tomorrow.

Oh yeah and made use of a couple of Mikalor clamps on my Y piece-LCB. Hope they're tight enough...
