Oh the joy - finally had enough space to get the car up on stands After a quick squince underneath a bit of grot discovered at the front of the nearside sill. Looks like the welder will have to be dusted off

fitted sound insulation pads throughout the car, floors, boot, etc and then have been carefully cutting out new automotive carpet, using the old carpets as patters, its starting to look pretty good. its a bright red but lifts the inside of the car the old carpets where more maroon. Also gave the rear seats a good clean and they have come up like new, fitted them in place and its looking almost complete, Just the front seats to clean and fit, then the doors and trim and it will be done.

fitted rear retractable seat belts, which involved making some retaining plates up and welding them in place. I am very happy with the results too, no more messing about with those bloody awful fixed belts and the kids will be happy.
Any chance you can tell me where you got them from and how they're mounted...?
Would like to do this to my Mini sometime too....
Hi I got the seats belts off good old ebay, they where new, securon Pn264 is the seat belts you need, then you will have to weld an spreader plate under the rear wheel arch. so you can attach that part of the belt in the rear bin, just make sure you measure carefully before you drill the holes. I used 3mm plate 50mm x 70mm with the bolt welded through the plate, which then goes through into the rear bin/ wheel arch. All the other seat belt mounts can then be used ( assuming yours has the static belts fitted) it was a pretty simple operation, and was done from start to finish in about 5 hours or so and that was taking my time.

Ha ha, it was more of a rhetorical question! I had fitted the rotor arm, but forgot to mention it in my list! Thanks though!

I just didn't want the rotor arm to feel left out and lonely just because you forgot to mention it.
