Started it up for the first time in 6 years or more . Fired up pretty much straight away.

If I was you I'd get the harness bar now before you fit the rest.. Better to trial fit everything first as I'm having a nightmare now..

 

Won't be getting it until the new year, got Christmas to pay for and 3 lads.... will be the same for the dash bar too... fortunately its a bolt in cage so should be able to get the harness bar to fit.... thanks for the info though ::)

Machined this. Fitted the new slave cylinder and bled it.

Anyhoo, had some rally decals delivered today so will be attaching them along with a set of other stickers tomorrow... Its the wifes birthday and she's given me permission to go and play with me car :) so I will.....

Yesterday I took radiator, inlet and engine loom out. Tried to disconnect clutch cylinder but the pin is stuck so I soaked it in Plusgas and will take a blowtorch to it tonight if it still doesn't want to budge.

 

Not many more things left to do, hopefully I'll have the engine out tonight. If not tonight then definitely tomorrow. (Forecast says rain tomorrow so I hope it all goes to plan today!)

Got a little frustrated as my headlights cut out completely about 20 miles from home in the dark.. limped home behind a HGV then my dad in his works van, Proceeded to fix it.
I want to meet the person who wired my car, they need slapping... the electrics are a complete mess..

Took the engine out last night! Went really smoothly, now to clean it...

Fitted the windscreen wiper motor etc and washer jets.

Ecano digital thermometer and LCD clock added. My mini is sorn and garaged for winter, so was good to get him out again in the cold sun we had yesterday. Even if it was not on the roads. lol......

Got the centre strap back from being machined so bolted all the caps back on and re-checked the end float - still .0015"   Cant fit the gearbox back on yet as I'm waiting for a couple of ARP washers to arrive for the cap bolts, but while I was in the garage I dug out the old cam that I replaced with the 285 and joy of joys it an MG Metro one - that's going in my Morris

Full service. Oil filter, oil change, air filter, plugs, leads, dizzy cap. Runs like a frickin dream now.
