Finished the engine compartment for my '62 rear engine Honda V-6. The "firewall" is a sandwich of Lizardskinned 18 ga. sheetmetal, Pyrogel 250 and plywood. The plan is to lay carpet on top of the plywood. I also pre-fit everything prior to paint. Now I'm ready to start adding all the suspension. This has been a really fun build so far. Can't wait to get some Image wheels on her!

Stripped out all the hydraulic pipework for renewal - all are 36 years old - a few days with penetrating oil and application of my best bootsale buy... 10p for a Williams superslim flared spanner (a UN178 RD if you need one - made for the job - no slipping whatsoever totally solid with the bonus of a 1/2" other end and does that tricky engine mount bolt with ease)....and...... all came undone cleanly... no mangled unions or sheared pipes :-)...

Just love old tools!!!!

Honed the bores, fitted new rings, and jet washed the block to get rid of all the grit from the honing stones - don't they wear away quickly

Fitted rear hi-lows and coil springs, new nuckles + GAZ  adjustables shockers last week to my 91 Mayfair.

So all week rain ans shine been tryin to adjust the ride (hard as nails) got it nice on o/side by Thursday.

Took the wife to the train station this morning (she evened the ride out a bit,but I never mentioned it to her) :nuke:

All the way back home it felt like hard /bouncey rear n/side (was riding high)

Anyway parked up with n/side wheels on the kerb, tweaked the hi-low down a couple of threads and G/shocks to 9 clicks, drove around the block...better :proud:

Parked up again n/side on the kerb...another two threads down on the hi-low,then adjusted the G/shocks to 4 clicks,Drove around the block again...

This time BEAUTIFUL !! O_O  :D  :D  :D

At least this time I didn't have to remove and refit the bloody wheels everytime I messed with them. That was putting me right off.

So now when it comes to fine tuning the ride,it'll be done quicker with the wheels in place ;D

Fitted Pipercross airfilter, induction noise galore now  ;D

Fitted window mechanism with all parts as the drivers side window didn't have the parts that fit to the window bottom, the window was just running on the glass and the wheel on the mechanism.... nice and smooth now )

Oh also temporarily fitted a 6 point rollcage... what a %$£" that was to get the rear hoop in.... front cage and top roof bar went in with ease....? Will be paying for door bars and a dash bar on Thursday...

Might even invest in a removeable harness bar too, just for the track days....

If I was you I'd get the harness bar now before you fit the rest.. Better to trial fit everything first as I'm having a nightmare now..
