Then came home and did the final bit of welding on the 850.
It did cross my mind that at 3000rpm in top the S is doing about 42mph but at 3000rpm in top my normal road car would be doing 132mph. Such is 50 years of design progress.

Measured up the rear conversion plates for the Mk1 rear light conversion...
Fitted new fog light in better position so it doesnt catch the overrider, also fitted a new reversing lights (same shape as foglight, just with a clear lense instead)...
Am still on the hunt for a Mk1 bootlid or a lower bootlid panel to weld in to my spare bootlid...
Also on the lookout for a Mk1 7 slat internal release grille and surround....

took drivers door off, gutted dash, cried at the gaping big hole under the O/S corner of the scuttle, cut the scuttle panel out to reveal a 4 inch hole.

started to fit the dashboard back in, then noticed the flasher unit for the indicators and hazards doesn't work properly so will wait until a new one lands from bull motif. and then noticed a strange misfire on revving the engine, but fine on tick over... ah the joys... shut the garage door and have a look tomorrow

Fitted Autospark electronic ignition and a new dipstick.
Thought about washing it.
Talked to my mate about how little I wash it.
Went to the pub.
Didn't wash it.
Maybe tomorrow?

I used something similar on my old motor called 'Purple Rain' bloody good stuff, gets rid of brake dust and bits of iron filings from the discs too :)
Used to spray it on a couple of times when I was giving it a deep clean and clay bar....

This is the 1st time I've used this and I can't believe how good it is round the bolt heads for so little work.I used Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel for the first time.
Spray it on
Wash it off
