Reversed it into a post at a carpark! Was parking up next to my mate so i could chat to him, and CRUNCH!
Thought I'd KO'd the bootlid/whole rear end, sounded like it. But no, just the light lens!

Got spares, which is ok. But I had the jewel lenses, and tinted them. Looked lush! :gimme:

Found some old clear lenses I had, which I'd tinted ages ago! So I put them on, which kept the dark look to the Mini. Doesn't look as good as the round jewel lenses though. :)

Went with 'Cooperkid', my grandson, to collect his 1997 MPI from the paintshop where it has been painted in dark metallic green with a light silver roof. Since then we have fitted the dash, the interior parts, rear side windows, rear window, rear bumper, front and rear seam capping strips, wiper motor and rack, door check stops, bonnet badge (a 1961 Morris' badge), and a few other odds & ends. It sure starts to look good.
Next thing is to do all the suspension, re-build the engine and check/re-build the gearbox.

It doesn't help when your driving down country lanes thou  :X :gimme:

That should charge the old battery up till next time :)

Today, and the last 2 days, I learnt the absolute meaning of laborious.

Been stripping the underseal off my '74. :gimme:

A ban on underseal should be in the Geneva convention. Owing to the cruel and unusual torture required to remove it!

Ah but if its clean solid metal underneath then it’s done its job. Just don’t try using a wire brush in a grinder, it removes it beautify, but covers everything else around you instead. :gimme:

Unfortunatly, it's not covering clean solid metal underneath. It's coming off so I can find the extent of the rot.

I'm using a heat gun and filet knife to remove to big bits. then cleaning up with the wire wheel. I'm not too fussed if it chucks the underseal everywhere. I'm stripping all the way back to metal anyway. Only real problem with the wire wheel, is I end up looking like I've been woring down a mine when I'm done. :gimme:
