Fully re-charged the battery, warmed the oil with a fan heater, changed the plugs, fixed a loose starter motor 'live' post problem by changing the starter motor, changed the starter solenoid as it was sometimes 'sticking', re-set the points, changed the plugs, changed one headlight bulb and fixed one Cibie spot which had a poor connection. 'Cooperkid' did half the work, as usual.
Then started it, warmed it up and we went for a blast around the lanes after it got dark - wonderful to drive the rally 'S' as always. Didn't go over 6500 rpm once it got over 70 deg C, honestly.

Today, well yesterday now! took the carpets out of her because she fills ups with water in the footwells both sides, not sure where it comes from so I take the carpets out in the winter and just mop it out every day :) Rust free!

Sanded the body back to bare metal from the A panel back and around the boot. A few rust spots removed and a little welding as well. Just got the bonnet and doors to do. Tired, grubby and stinky but very happy.

Dug the 7 or 8 inches of snow off the mini and other cars on the drive, defrosted the bonnet enough to open it and check the fluids and found half the radiator was frozen over. Deforested the door lock so I could get in, jumped in and tried to see if it would start up. Apart from a lot of crap from the exhaust and running on 2 ish cylinders until revved a bit and left to settle, it fired up first try of the key. :)

The gearbox and clutch are all still fine, but it just sits there spinning its wheels beached on all the snow that’s under it. :P

Charged up the battery! And then drove it up and down our inside garage for about 30 mins (100 metre), Imagining I was driving it somewhere else! Damn snow!

Got the garage smelling of exhaust and rubber! MMMMM

Cleared about 8 inch of snow off the Mini and the driveway ready for work tomorrow, assuming that I can get to work of course.

Quite proud of how it's coming along. The nice weather on the other side of the world helps......
