We took our four minis to Plant Oxford's family day. Absolutely shattered after minding them for seven hours! Still, they were seen and appreciated by thousands of people; the plant was very busy. However, you do forget how well behaved mini and general classic car folk are compared to the general public! People opening the doors and sitting in without asking, opening bonnets and boots and containly touching the paint work! My husband has nearly keeled over with the stress of it! There were a few other minis there too, and Plant Oxord had their collection on show. Had a good chat with Paddy Hopkirk, who came over to see our minis. 6 EMO and some other works minis were also there.

Poured in some HV cable joint resin into my foot well after replacing the hole in the floor pan. That should sort out any leaks. None of it's seeped through so it looks like it's done the job. Fibreglass patched the rear valance, finished welding in my new scuttle, and welded in some new headlight surrounds.
Oh and bought a Quickshift kit, steering wheel and bullet mirrors from Stanford today. Good hustle I reckon

Started poking around my drivers door to find..... the previous owner had stuck masking tape over a gaping rust hole and sprayed over it. (where's the not happy smiley face???)

Not today, yesterday, but still.... Pulled out the rad and water pump, Pulled out the core plugs, changed all the steady bushes to poly and added another gearbox steady in, cleaned up the engine a bit, drained the oil, fitted some bullet mirrors.

Have to wait till next weekend now until i can put it all back together =(
