Phoned the garage to find out the bodywork is coming along....

Drove round multiple motor factors to buy lapping paste.
Bought said lapping paste.
Lapped me some valves.
Assembled the head forgetting to put stem seals in place
Disassembled head.
Reassembled head.

Muk is getting there for the 'EURO' trip next week, oil change and Hi-lows tmz, and brakes, cigarette lighter for all the son's gadgets and satnav, 1600miles in 6 days and a few laps on the Nurmburgring

All major holes have been replaced, couple small areas to get a bit of attention, it's being undersealed and something done with the arches then it'll be painted up - all one colour I may add ;)
Need to source a new bonnet at some point, but not urgent, there will be enough paint bought to do that too whenever I get it

Just my preference but I'd have the bonnet sprayed at the same time, you never know what the conditions may be like and there may be slight difference. I'm OCD so that would really annoy me

Lol!! If I can find the cash, I will, but it will be putting me over my budget at the mo which is very tight as it is - and to be fair, it's been 4 or 5 shades of green for about 7 years, so I don't think it'll bother me too much ;)

Finally got my Roof rack disassembled yesterday, had to use my arsenal of tools and different methods to take it apart, but finally its all apart! Was covered in rust and old grease and I have cuts were the screwdriver slipped and nicked my finger but now it's time to strip down all the rust, re-grease the inner rods and paint up the thing in black Hammerite! Oh and then assemble onto my Mini but tonight can wait, Essex Mini Club meet tonight
