Parts finally arrived soo...

New thermostat
New thermostat housing gasket and bolts
Re-assembled hoses/pipes
Test Drive :)

Still running hot so will give her a good drive tomorrow and see how hot she gets.

Checked for any cold spots in the pipes? :-)

She seems ok now. But needs a good run out I think. Might change the rad in the winter when I do my flip front

Yeah could be a good idea, rad flush would be a bad idea either :D

I did the whole attached hose pipe and flush but didn't use any products. Wondering about the water pump. Don't know how big a job it is.

Left it well alone, so at least I haven't made it any worse!

What a pain in the arse!

I fitted a braided oil line in place of the leaking olive connection thing plus a new pressure sender. Then got slightly concerned it now takes a few seconds for the oil pressure light to go out, so hooked up my new oil pressure gauge and found what I suspect is a healthy 32psi at idle.
Still not sure why the light doesn't go out right away though...

Then I started painting somethings.

Removed wheel arch spats to assess degree of rust. Pleasantly surprised.
A good wash to see what other bodywork stuff needs doing and thats it!

Replaced my fuel line and fuel filter. Fiddle job.

And removed sportspack arches from rear of the car. Found out I have hi-Los on the rear, bonus but found a big chunk of rust on rear valance and valance cover. OUCH

Actually did some work on her today, fixed the leaking bottom hose, cutt away unused loom ends and blanked off cables with heatshrink, fixed cable and connectors on electric fan. However in doing all of this i found that when the engine was swapped (mpi to carb + dizzy) the radiator no longer fitted where it was suposed to and was CABLE TIED on! So I had to cutt out part of the front end to get it to sit properly and now need proper mounting brackets.

Torqued down the new head, tweaked the tappets, then trashed the nuts off it. Happy days!
