[Artful Dodger]

broke 3rd gear on my brand new straight cut gear set, pulled apart gearbox and mainshaft.

installed camshaft, timing gears and chain, oil pump and relevant gaskets. bolts for gearbox and bought new 3rd gear.


HAHA never making that mistake again!

Yesterday, gave Mr. Bridger a good clean and polish took him to a car show and won 3rd place.

Stripped down the brakes (4 corners all drums) only to re assemble them and make a list of bits to replace

Finished stripping the roof back on the GT to bare metal and repairing the rotted areas after removing the 30 year old vynil roof. What a dusty job that was. How I hate vynil roofs.

Did a service on it at the weekend, oil change + filter, air filter, plugs, checked idle and fast idle, timing, dwell took it for a drive went brilliant
following morning (yesterday) went to start it what a job eventualy got her going when the engine warmed up it went fine. Re-checked everything last night, used a colour tune aswell try again this morning takes about three/four turns of the key to get it started. any ideas what to do to get her stating properly ?/

I did these yesterday.

Put a new indicator bulb in as the other died.

Fitted new boot seal only to find out it still leaks. What the hell! The boot is proper hard to close as well like it is properly sealed?

Fitted new spotlight bulbs as both were gone when I bought the car. Took about an hour to drill the old screws out as they were well rusted in and the heads gone.

Replaced exhaust mounting bracked

Thought about putting a new clock in but couldn't face taking the dash out again.

Tought about washing it . . . . . but didn't

Parts finally arrived soo...

New thermostat
New thermostat housing gasket and bolts
Re-assembled hoses/pipes
Test Drive :)

Still running hot so will give her a good drive tomorrow and see how hot she gets.

got MUK ready for MOT tmz, greased all nipples topped all up adjust brakes checke lights checked rad and oil CO2 emmision ....should go through no probs.....will see
