My new carpet came today so spent a few hours ripping out the old stuff and fitting it. Looks much nicer although it took a lot of cutting to get it all to fit.

MOT in a month so going to start prepping for that.

For the longest time I've wanted to put 'Land Rover' lettering on my mini as a sort of ironic joke.

I genuinely like it.

The 'specialist edition' you've ever seen. :shades:

today (as with most of the rest of the week) i looked longingly out the back window as I watched stupid rain run down my car-covered mini. :(

also one boring delivery in the post - a carb breather hose .... which I was concerned about as the one end that supposed to be larger than the other aint as large as Id expected and Im wondering if it will be too tight on the car :( hmmmmm ?

Muk had a leak on the petrol tank, I was wondering why bad fuel economy, I found the cause, it was the tank filler neck. The cap collar has a dent on the edge so not locking/sealing tight enough even with the rubber washer, bought a tank on fleabay for £0.99 +6.99 P/P cleaned all the hammorite crab of it to bare metal to see if any faults where hidden, then Por Metal prep followed by a good coat of Por15 all over, sender unit new, I fitted the refurbed tank today and filled him up, went for a drive, to my expectations, no more leaking, hopefully it will show on the fuel consumption. :proud:

Changed the steering wheel from the original 14" to a Mountney 12".

It's like driving with a saucer as a steering wheel.

I fired up mine after 4 years of sitting in the garage, I've recently had the head off for a refurb and tidied up the engine bay along with new rad. Happy to say she fired up first time just need to set the ignition timing now.

Installed waterpump, radiator, hoses and alternator. Started it up and it's running pretty smooth. Gonna put the hood back on and go for a scoot to make sure all is well. Then tackle suspension tomorrow.

Topped up my brake fluid.
Checked my spares over.
Checked tyre pressures.

Exciting stuff.
