Put a shiny new bumper on the front and new seat covers. Noticed the rear bracket on the exhaust was hanging off so bodged it with cable ties until I can get a new one.

Fillered the recently welded patches, redid a previous poor repair with a proper job, fixed one scuttle closure (other one tomorrow), laquered the headlight rings and refitted one headlight, primed the filler'ed bits, moved the washer bottle from boot to rear bin to give the sub enclosure more volume (like the right amount) and tidied up the new headlight wiring.

Tomorrow is other scuttle closer, intermittent wiper box thing, new passenger seat plus mounts, headlights on and adjusted, maybe tidying up the rear valance.

Any whatever Junky brings over to be bolted onto hers

Found a monumental amount of filler near the back windscreen whilst de-seaming.

Then ran out of welding wire

I filled it up with fuel, sorted the passenger door card out and then took it for a good run out.

Changed / Flushed my coolant, well it wasnt coolant so much a brown sludgy water! but flushed through as best as i could with a watering can, bloody hosepipe ban! and changed thermostat, added a little oil and then took her for a 40 mile blast round the block (its a bit block ;) ) still need to Retard the dizzy a little as there is still a little tinkling / pinking under load.

Disconnected all wires to the engine, removed starter, alternator, fan, radiator mount, radiator, washer bottle, engine bay ducting, air filter and carb, disconnected the throttle cable, choke cable, speedo cable, heater pipes, exhaust, gear linkage, upper engine steady, took the bonnet off, grill off, removed the drive shaft split pins and cracked the nuts, undone the lower suspension arm bolts and using a trolley jack, tyre, tow rope and my astra managed to turn the car around with a seized wheel and get in back in my garage the other way around ready to disconnect the drive shafts and take the a series engine out.

Seems weird to be working on my other mini after spending 5 years working on my vauxhall conversion. All this in the name of research as well for my university project.

I have managed to do what first took me almost 3 months with in a day. If it wasn't for the seized wheel I most likely would have had the engine out.

No way is that 998 going back in there. Hmmm, I spy a c20xe sitting a few yards away. Shame I only own half of it. I would have to buy half of it off my mate Dom if I was to use it. Also I don't want to cut the body up to get a different engine in.

Oil and filter change.

Found out that my car seems to be able to set off the house alarm (the outside bit of it). Think I need to find my suppressor and put it back on, :D

Pulled out the entire loom from the donor mini, with switches and relays still attached :D Only had to cut a couple of wires.

I dont know why people make a big fuss of loom work.. they really are quite simple if you look at it bit by bit :)

Oh forgot to mention going over to Skortchs

Sorted out Ogys bodywork (sanding etc).. took a look at some dubious welds at the rear of the car while dave fannied about with the seats.

Fixed Nellys running issues, dodgy coil and squashed leads meant she ran like plop. Also made a grave mistake and pulled up some flooring and found a hole :( made a temporary fix. Also put a sticker on the rear window. Think that's it!

This weekend I have fitted my stage one kit :-D
Along with some new Spartan plugs and HT leads :-)
On top of all this I've fitted a vacuum gauge and a new aerial so I can listen to the radio :-)
