Had to remove both drive shafts CV and inboard boots as they all split open (grafite grease allover and up inner wings) had to use the wifes soap powder to wash everythind down.........these were new items in July 09 and they were perrished.............I got them from Minispares so this time I fitted new from Minisport........time will tell how long these will last...............

Fitted new, well secondhand really, rubber springs on the front. Only had one to do as the old cone compressor decided to retire after I had done the passenger side one last week. Reshimed the balljoints and fitted new sound deadening to the underside of the bonnet as the old stuff kept peeling off. Was gonna wash I but I had been outside since 8.15am and my head is a tad sunburnt.

The stuff I have fitted now does as it stays where it should rather than peel off! It isnt as thick as Dynamat but I found that layering it gives excellent results.

I put mine in a hedge as a van driver came round a corner on my side of the road.

Every things fine. I sort of went up the back and rammed half the side of my car in the hedge and just scraped all along it. My mate behind followed me in to the hedge as well and was even closer to the van then I was. Unfortunately I didnt see the company name on the van other wise I would ring them up and give them a bollocking. Thing was its not even a narrow road. You could have got 2 busses past on the corner. I think he was using his phone.

Finally removed the ancient (and defunct) alarm and gave the 12v permanent feed to the radio (yipee) !

I'm left with a siren and some very odd electrics around the engine bay though... :)|

Changed over my alternator! Stoked as this is the first time that I figured out what was wrong and fixed it. Thank you 1971 Mini workshop manual I found in my garage!
