Minisport Discount Code? Does It Have To Go Dhl 1-2 Days For International Buyers?

A fella I know buys UK Minis and has them shipped to the states regularly. His contact in the UK is letting me shipped the items to his address and putting them in a Mini that is coming over sometime soon to avoid crazy shipping costs.
However, it might be awhile so beyond the the discount code, is there a way to cut the shipping cost down if I wanted to get this sooner than waiting on the next Mini? It seems the only option is DHL 1-2 days and I don't need the stuff that quick. Because some of the items are heavy (wheels and tyres), shipping is £250! I know there are slower options and waiting two weeks for the items and saving £100-£150 is worth the wait.

Could you not order it from minispares instead? If you join TMF+(£5 a year) you get a 7.5% discount with them.I'm about to make a £750 order with minisport. Obviously this is a chunk of change! It is still cheaper than buying here in the states though. Are there currently any discount codes to try and save some cash on this?

Well, that is certainly an option. My contact here in the states knows a guy that works at MiniSport and I was told that he can avoid charging my VAT. I dont know if thats simply because I'm not a UK resident or if he just has a way to not put it in.
Honestly, I don't care where it comes from as long as its quality stuff, comes in one piece and is the cheaper option. On an order this big, 7.5% is nearly $75 USD. How do I become a paying forum member if this is the best route to go and they are going to rape me on shipping if I decide to get it directly?

I believe you go to "my controls" and you will find an option under the "options" heading "to purchase paid subscription" or something like that.
I too find posteg cost quite high at places (im in sweden) but the discount at minispares makes adifference.
Dont you always get vat free shop, being in america???
For wheels and tyres i found huddersfield spares very reasonable on postage 4 wheels and tyres 35 pounds!
