Hi all,

just wondering about adding extra courtesy lights under the dash to light the foot wells and maybe
set into the underside of the doors. Could I just wire them into the existing circuit for the interior light ?

Anyone done anything like this ?

Best wishes
Monty

I'm doing this. I've got puddle lights, floor well lights front and rear, lights in the rear door cards and an over headlight in the middle.

I've no idea how much current that would be putting through the existing circuit (although a bunch are now LED) but I made the descision to use a relay because I had a live coming from my started that was there from when I put my fag lighter in.
I also used a delay relay (in the 85 and 86 circuit) and using a relay (for the live) means they all stay on for a decent amount of time instead of the timer being discharged in about two seconds supplying all the lights I have.

I have puddle lights too but my wiring is completely custom. The puddle lights extinguish when the door closes but the other interior lamps are on a timer. As said above, if using the standard wiring you must consider the additional loading.

"puddle lights" - that's what I meant :D

Anyone got some more info on the delay / timer side of things (I'm a bit green when it
comes to electrics).

Best wishes
Monty
