Cheers for the offer on the diffuser Alan. I`m trying to keep mine as close to a standard looking MK3 S as possible so just going to bolt a body coloured carbon standard valance on and flat bottom floor the rear from the heel board to the valance, with a centre exit exhaust coming through the middle of the valance.
Have you weighed yours yet? Hope you`re going to drive it in anger - would be a shame not too, its starting to look a bit too mint for a track car!
Also, try and find out what diff ratio you are running (the crown wheel and pinion bolted to the differential) as trust me the 2 sprockets used in the kit can drastically shorten/lengthen the gearing! I`ve messed around loads with them and have settled on a setup that gives me 120mph (GPS) on the limiter in 6th.

Duds, no worries, your plan sounds like a good one for the rear. Saw your instagram feed after checking #R1mini, the RP boys have put some pics up of my car. Would be great to see some more images of your project.
Haven't weighed it yet (what's yours?), hoping for some serious reduction but there is a lot of tube in there which was never totally necessary, just like the look! Know what you mean on the finish, was saying to some of the other guys on here that you need to be a bit careful in terms of how far you go but hey, if in doubt.... ! Will certainly be giving it some serious abuse as soon as I can, always told everyone working on it that it has to be bomb proof - I think the winter will see me making sure it is and getting it set up properly for next summer, will be loads of little (hopefully) things to fix.
Phil from Pro-Mo says its most likely a 3:1:1 ratio diff., would be great to see your spreadsheet, and let me know how you came to settle on the sprockets you're on at the mo?
All the best,
Al

thread hi-jack avoiding PM sent!

Finally got up to RP to see the car yesterday, the boys had really pushed on so was pretty happy with how it's looking. Still bit of an issue with getting the front to sit right but have some plans - going to get some spacers on first and go from there, think the front arches really need to come down a bit but there's no wing left to fix to as it's been cut back so much!
Got a little power pack out to test the new rear lights, they look good and work but not particularly bright, Nat made the point that I probably shouldn't go out in the fog in a fog coloured car! Will post more pics when they're wired up properly.
Steadily crossing off things on the to do list!
Perspex cleaning up well thank god, was overspray apparently, not scratched as I'd thought
As I said, really happy with the width and fit of the arches, just need to get the wheels to fill them out a bit more. New screw it towing eye to avoid me denting the front end again!
Door straps added, door cards back in, reservoirs moved, stalks engineered and mounted, handbrake in, dash pod re-made and hazards switch in, all re-painted - here's a link to my dropbox from RP which has loads more images of how much works has gone into the various re-engineered items:

Back of rear 'light boxes' all painted and in.
Rolled her outside (which is extremely difficult with the diff!!) and, for the first time, got some shots of what looks like the modified Mini I've been trying to build! Dead chuffed.
Going to look really good with the extra section of pipe to the filter.
RP re-made front bonnet mounts
RP re-made rear bonnet mounts, more pics on the drop box
Favourite pic of the lot
Quite like the way the arches cut back here, bit more 'custom' car than like the miglias but this is hopefully turning into a bit of a crossover

looking good mate, be good to see how well the lights come out now seeing how they look fitted and painted. love how she looks though and all of the little touches that make her look how she does. hope you get the stance side nailed but I dont think it'll take much to be honest

Looks great Al, i would try and trim the arches back a bit so they sit flush in line with the wheels.
Rather than leaning over them?

Thanks guys, much appreciated. On the lights, think they will be fine but going to add a central rain light as brake light as well behind the rear screen, would be awkward to get rear ended at this stage!
Getting there, boys have put a few more pics on the drop box as have mounted wiper motor and have fab'd up a shallow section to get the exhaust between the fuel tank box and diffuser! Tank modified as well. Wiper position wasn't what I had planned but the angles involved mean it can't go lower. Will have a re-think of that in future and see if there's a different unit which can be more remote, would like it down with ecu etc behind a new bulkhead panel, we'll get there.
I know what you mean about the pic above, going to have a go and getting the camber and track right first and go from there, hopefully that will help, think also going to get some wider outer rims form Carl, got to look right! RP think the only way is to get a new front end and arches from Ben! That may be the ultimate answer but going to get it running first and try to have some fun before inevitably changing/developing things again!
All the best,
A
