Not yet. I'm still deciding which one to use (might be able to source a 3rd one soon) in which car etc.
Also I want to get the car running so I can test out the tach before connecting it permanently

i bought another rev counter at the weekend, that had +, -, and 1 on it with a little sticker where to wire them to.
_ goes to earth
+ goes to ignition live
1 goes to the coil negative for the signal
i tried it out with just loose wire in the engine bay, and it worked fine, so i'd think your audi one would be similar
