Make the towbar removable? Or save yourself the space and time and just do another complete mini instead!?

I know, I've got the triangles and am going to glue magnets to them so I can stick them on while towing, but take them off at shows because they ruin the look!

I also considered putting them under the bumper to hide them a bit, but think that'd be too low...

P.S. Front lower edge sorted;

Got to box round the tow bar, and do the top edge next.

Slowly progressing, got to finish tacking the top bit off then cut the sides and join it all together...
Got it on, then thought the other way up may have looked neater, but a bit late now, and I think it'll be fine...

But at least something's happening.

Looking good Dave, one thing I would point out though is the curved lip at the top will act as a scoop for the air coming off the car, slowing it down. Having towed a trailer before I noticed a marked difference in the miles per gallon & acceleration/braking. If you could smooth it off somehow it would be to your advantage. Taking note of the trucks on the road these days they have the air diffusers on top of the cabin to push the air over the top of the trailer so something like that is what I will be making once I have finished repairing our car. Keep it up though the end is in site!

Nick - Sorry no updates, been a bit busy with other things.
Davey - Currently it's at standard ride height, but I've machined down a pair of trumpets to lower it, the other option was a pair of hi-lo's.

Brams - Compared to the aerodnamics of a mini that'll make little difference, the rear edge of a mini leaves a large turbulent wake behind it that the trailer will sit in, curving the top edge will make zero difference either way.

Afraid I've done nothing with the trailer this year, except move it about, however, I promise I will get back on it very soon and try to get it completed in time for the spring.

My Hornet, Mini and Impreza have been taking up all my time!

So I have split it and moved it - this weekend I WILL (I promise), change teh suspension trumpets to lower it, clean it, and get started again over Christmas - yes I've had a year of doing nothing with it - been otherwise engaged, but it's survivied so i can get rocking again!

I done something, I painted the wheels white, and have lowered it with cut down trumpets!
Next job is to finish welding the base up, then get busy making the lid.

Finally an update, wheels are painted and refitted back to the base, (at least one is).
I know there's overspray, but the tyres are cracked and will need replacing anyway.
Secondly, it now seems a shame to cover them up, so after a pair of small chrome hub caps.
