Very nice Pete.

Liking the red & black combo, especially with that shine!

Regards

Steve

Well it will fade slightly, I couldn't really make an informed guess, but maybe 10 years so long as you keep it waxed and polished? The shine shouldn't be a problem, just the colour will inevitably fade a little due to not having any UV protection like modern lacquers. I like faded celly, looks great, I prefer it to 2k on an older car.

Yes, but it would be very difficult at home, as you'd need to use 2k, not sure if it would be compatible with cellulose either. Celly lacquer wouldn't make any difference, no UV protection

Very nice! Clearcoat always looks miles better than gloss!

And 'myredmini' I have 2k clearcoated over cellulose before without issue but I wouldnt advise trying this at home without proper equipment.

2k laquer over cellulose paint is fine, it was done in a lot of paint shops when both were common.

"not sure if it would be compatible with cellulose either"

Funnily enough i was asking one of the painters at work about using 2k laquer on celly base and he said as long as the cellulose is completely dry and the solvents had evaporated you can use it. Just make sure the base is dry.

James

Oh and pete flo looks ok i guess....

Brilliant skills mate. Sorry for the total beginners question, but i'm gonna be replacing my oversills soon... when you cut off old sills how do you get rid of the old lip that is spot welded to the doorstep? Do you just grind it all off?
