Doors are easy to do so long as you can weld, because the frame almost always needs repairing. Otherwise it's very simple. Check out my "how to" post in FAQ's.

And yes Green Ti! well spotted :P

Pete - you got skills!

You do more work in a day than I can do in a month :)

Cheers guys >_< You gotta remember, I've done this just about every day for the past 5 years, after that kinda time, everything gets very easy!

I fitted an internal bonnet release this evening. The body is now ready for painting on Saturday. Looks like I might have tomorrow evening off

Any tips for making your own replacement metal?

What thickness do you use?

I'm using 1mm but can't seem to get my bends tight enough if you know what I mean!?!

Make a template out of card first, then mark it out onto the metal, noting bits that need bends etc, and the direction of the bend. I don't have a metal folder, just use a vice. Not ideal but it does ok if you just bend a bit at a time, then move it along, bend another bit, etc.

Whatever I can get my hands on! I don't own one myself, too heavy to lug about. I think I used an ESAB magC170 for most of the welding on this. Previously a sealey 180 turbo.. I think! all with .8 wire and GAS.

I then stripped the car and sorted out all the little dents and niggly bits that had been annoying me.

Then primed it all..

Spray booth booked for next Saturday.. :P

Ha, to most others thats a whole project on its own, yet it was just an afternoons work to you!

Most excellent!

:D
