Thanks for the comments, I jacked it up on the other side at lunch, it appears to be slightly better, but I'll know for sure when I cut the outer sill off later on.. wish me luck!

Haha thanks Fi!

Well I took the N/S sill off tonight, but no pictures as I left the camera at work. The rear subframe mount point is very solid, and the front floor pan is almost rust free, just a couple of little holes. Otherwise it's just the same, rear floor holed, inner sill rusted to hell.. the usual.

Progress will be slow for a week now, I've only got evenings, and am away this weekend.

Amazing worksmanship as always from you Peter! How long has it been since you carried out Flo's restoration? The rust in the sills seems pretty advanced!

Watching this one with a keen eye :mrcool:.

Cheers Adam, Well the sills were still the original ones, I've never messed with them at all so it's not surprising really that they were on their way out! I first sorted out rust in 2003 when I bought the car, then again in 2006, which is when I crashed it and it fitted a new front end. Other than that it hasn't had much work at all really.

Oh and no update tonight, I was working away from the workshop and then had to go to the launderette tonight.. :)

Ah that's fair enough then! I was scared that they'd rusted to that level in just a few years.

Can't wait for the next update sir <_<.

And painted the inside of the sill with weld through zinc primer.

I also applied new sound deadening to the floor, where I removed the old stuff to prevent a pyrotechnic display when I was welding.

two things,

did you just zinc primer the inside of the sill then left it? will be doing this job over the next few weeks, and wondered what i should do with it?

and where did you get that sound deadening?

Cheers

Sam
