that roofs finish is stunning!!

a quick question, did you use this waxoyl LINK or is it a shultz gun type?

loving your work as always >_<

I used this stuff CLICKY

Much better than convention body shutz, as it dries much flatter, normal body shutz is a bit thick and looks quite bodgy! 3 of those tins was plenty.

Thanks Peter you have solved my underfloor issues :geek:

Following on from davej's message will you be at any shows this year? Would be great to meet you and your mini in person

No worries! I'm really not sure at the moment, I'm uprooting and moving to Scotland at the end of the month, so mini shows aren't really on the top of my "to do" list! I wanted to go to riv run, but there was no way the car would have been done in time :P

Peter the car, work done and quality of finish are all stunning! My hat off to you sir.

Just one quick noobish question if I may, my dad has always told me that when doing repairs to the sills, or at least serious repairs to inner sills, you need the car on a jig as when you cut the sills off the car flexes too much. Hence there have been many a potential project I've avoided due to needing the sills replacing.

Is he right? I may be wrong but I couldn't seen anything to keep Flo straight in the pictures when you were doing the sills, such as a jig or bracing.

Cheers. You definitely don't need the car on a jig when doing the type of panel replacement that I have done here, I did it methodically so there were no areas where any panels could move, if you do one side at a time and take measurements to refer to when re-welding if you're worried, then no problemmo.

I got my interior fitted yesterday,

Before I started

Posted Image

Carpeted dash tray area
Posted Image

Fitted spunky new dash rail
Posted Image

And the rest of the dash, except I bought a steering culomn shroud for an airbag model, so it's too short >:) if anyone has a standard black shroud for sale, let me know.
Posted Image

Big up nuff respec in a area to Chris AKA "Big Boy Burnsio" AKA Retro Retrims for sorting me out with awesome black leather dash rails and a few other bits.

Trimmed rear arches
Posted Image

Fitted Newton Commercial sound deadening kit
Posted Image

And started fitting Newton Commercial moulded carpet set, I was a bit p*ssed off to have to cut out the bulkhead piece myself, you'd think that for £100 it would come ready cut? I know it's so it's not handed, but it's not difficult to produce two types of bulkhead carpet is it.
Posted Image

Finished fitting carpets
Posted Image
Posted Image

Fitted seatbelts and rear seat
Posted Image

Fitted front seats and door cards, the interior is from a mini 30.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Wasn't happy with the feel of the steering wheel, so fitted a Cooper one I had, seemed to work a bit better, still not happy though, I'll keep my eyes open for another, the John Cooper Motalita would be nice..
Posted Image

Also trimmed up inside of the bootlid
Posted Image

That was all for yesterday, will give it all a valet today, should have proper pictures of the outside later on!

Looks good Pete! What do you think to the NC felt kit? I need to replace the one in my MPi after a leak ruined it all. Oddly, the NC seems one of the cheaper options.

Cheers peeps!

The felt kit seemed good, I had to cut the hole for the gearstick, and trim it a bit round the handbrake, otherwise I don't see how it could be improved. Best price from Newton Commercial too, whereas the Newton Commercial carpet set was cheapest from Minisport. (excuse my language).

Cool, I've had it in my basket for a while, but I'll get it ordered now. What did you use to cut the hole? The last no-name set I had, I struggled to get good clean cuts in it, especially on tight corners.

Thanks,
