Cheers, I used two pieces of 1mm steel, plug welded together. Admittedly not ideal, but I didn't have any thicker gauge stuff lying about. I shaped both plates. I would buy a proper mounting point if I were you, they're not expensive and it saves alot of hassle! I only did it that was as I had limited time and money.
yes mate, M-Machine make one. There is a short section of heelboard attached, but it's very easily removed.

i fear i may have hijacked petes topic... sorry
Haha no probs.. so long as you apply enough paint, nothing will bleed through, unless you;re putting white over red, which will always go pink. It;s always best to prime and flat the whole car, but sometimes time is a limiting factor, and if you're spraying the car the same or very nearly the same colour and the paint is in good condition, the need to prime over it pretty much goes out of the window.

Pictures yet?!
Sorry no pictures, I didn't work on it over the weekend apart from fitting the windscreen, waiting on interior bits, and it's stuck in the back of a dingy garage at the moment. Fingers crossed it'll be done this weekend, then I'll put up pictures. I'll send you a PM
