Engine mounts are a bit of a fiddle and will require the removal of one side at a time ( suggest doing the o/s first ). You will need to support the engine and remove the clutch cover (wok) and then you can replace the engine mount which is attached to it... The n/s you will again need to support the engine and then remove the radiator, and after that the radiator bracket, you can then access the engine mount which is attached to that.

It's more likely to be your top engine steady bushes ( or the bracket ) which have failed... Was the exhaust strapped to the back of the gearbox, if not that will also cause stresses on the pipe.

These pictures should help. The upper steady bar that guessworks refers to is on the left hand side as you look at hte engine, above hte flywheel housing wok. Put the handbrake on hard, and then wobble the engine forwards and back, checking for movement in the bar / bushes. If movement here, replace the bushes. Availaible from minispares.com etc very cheap, you could even look at poly bushes.
Thats great just going to have a brew and then attempt to have a go!! would you reccomend poly bushes? also where did you get such detailed drawings? is that a haynes book scanned in to your puter!!

I poly bush mine, you do get slight increase in noise, but they are much harder and hold the engine more, however - when they fail their perforemance decreases much quicker than the standard rubber ones if you get me.would you reccomend poly bushes? also where did you get such detailed drawings? is that a haynes book scanned in to your puter!!
Regarding the drawings, these are not haynes...
PM me your email address if you wish me to send you a load of pdfs...
