12inch Steels + Chrome Hub Caps = Japan

You may have seen what I mean either in mags or at a show and with Japanese origins. They are what appear to be standard 12inch steel wheels with a standard offset, painted in silver or OEW but the final touch is a chrome hub cap. It resembles the cap found on the 10inch wheel but are a tad larger to fill the 12inch wheel are and appear to attached using the wheels lugs. I have searched the interweb and cannot find any reference to the source or the materials that is conclusive.
Has anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

i think they are the normal hubcaps for 10 inchers, to fit them yo 12's you have to weld lugs on
I think I may have found what type of cap, they are ever so slightly larger than Mini ones and have an MGA/MGB fitment. So maybe they fit the standard 12 inch wheel but this isnt definitive still. There is or was a G reg Mini prototype going around in OEW attending Concours. That had the same set up but I would like to confirm it with someone thats done it before buying all the stuff to do it...

but imp rims have a lower offset, so may well need arches. I'm pretty sure that in japan they are using stock 12" steels, its just finding the hubcaps

I have meant to reply to this for a while, been busy.
I ended up getting Cooper S Calipers and fitting Cooper S offset rims and falken tyres.
Up to that point I was running 12inch steels, was going to use plain 8" chrome hub caps, fitted to late Morris Minor/ Austin LCV's but how to fit them?
I bought some genuine 1990's plain pastic 8" Mini hub caps which fit 12" wheels with a number of clips. I paid 99p for 4 new hub caps and £10 for all the clips I needed, but then started to have problems finding good plain chrome caps off a Morris. I was going to araldite the plastic caps inside the chrome ones and attach them to the steels using the clips, which push in to holes pre-drilled in the steels, thus securing the chrome caps without the need to use tie straps or drilling the chrome potenially throwing out the wheel balance.
As I said, I couldnt get hold of decent chrome caps, plain ones, loads of Morris "M" caps around but didnt want them, then the op came up for a brake conversion and a set of Cooper S rims came my way for free. I have just got around to buying 4 new stainless steel Mini caps and fitted them...
