Hi there!
I am new to the mini forum and i have decided to join up so i can share with you my project. my supercharged Rover V8 engined mini flame.
I have some pictures that i will add at a later date to show you my progress so far.
i would really appreciate input from anybody who has done engine conversions and help is needed with things like strength and support when im cutting the bulkhead.. going to be front engine rear wheel drive =D also i would like some contacts for people who have done the v8 conversion themselves.. if anybody knows who they are and how i can contact them.

the rough intended spec of my car is as follows..
supercharged 3.5 rover v8
lt77 gearbox.. form landrover disco or triump tr7
front metro turbo hubs vented discs and 4 pot calipers
standard mini hubs and disc on rear with driveshafts into a final drive unit
1989 flame shell.. bulkhead extensively modified.. braced with roll cage type supports
and obviously alot more mods.. far to many to list.. lol

many thanks, spencer

just an update on the project as i havent in a few weeks, i have removed the scuttle panel to get rid of some rust spots and to fit a roll cage type support across the width of the bulkhead. im thinking of fitting a full 6 point roll cage and then welding a frame off that to retain strenght and rigidity in the front to compensate for cutting out the majority of the bulkhead!

heres a few more pictures.. progress is slow but im waiting the the money to rebuild the engine first.

Bloody hell! I thought just the engine its self would be fast, but add a supercharger and that mini will fly!

That will sure to blow off all the rust >_<

Or maybe being winter it was simply to cold to do any work on the car.
Hopefully there will be some updates, even if we have to wait till later in the year.
