Hi mate. Great looking Mini. I love the wheels you have on it. Do you know what they're called please? Looks like you're doing a great job anyway. Keep up the good work.
Joe
Hi, I once did a quick search for the name of the wheels, I think they're called Jupiter or something like that. They're 10"
Thanks for the comment!

They can take orders by email too, you'll talk to his wife, she's very kind and responds quickly.
They sell parts from the Moss Motors catalog and only charge the price of the catalog, no more. They can have parts from other suppliers too.

Do you have the dimensions and thickness of the steel you used by any chance.
Merci

This is great. Thanks a lot and great pics of the contraption you created for the rotissery mini chicken!

I don't know the exact dimensions of the steel used, I just been really lucky to find a whole bunch of steel at my father's garage. Round tube is about 3" diameter. I think any thickness would do, as the naked bodyshell isn't really heavy.
Beautiful mini, good work!
Thanks! I'll work on it tonight, I'll try to update tomorrow.

Ok, little progress tonight, more thinking than action.
Proceeded to clean those surfaces
And found a whole bunch of ancient repair panels welded bizzarly. They are only outside, and nothing shows inside the car. That means they're panel welded on top of rust, so someday the rust will no doubt come through...ok I plan to redo all this. More job!

Ok, tonight's progress.
Draw a line...
Cut...
Hole...
Make own pattern panel...
Weld.
That should be the way to go for the next week or two!

I'm back...
So, received a gift in exchange of money from Somerford Mini
These are all floor reinfocement hardware.
Bought thicker steel to repair things in the bulkhead area. 30mm I used about 1mm thick metal up to now.
I had made a simple crossmember by a steel shop nearby. I know it's square, I'll have to do the shapes to go over the round tunnel myself. I did this because a new crossmember was about 200$ to have and I couldn't figure out why would I pay so much for such a simple piece of metal.
Cleaned this area.
I've decided that I will blast the bodyshell (soda or/and sand) once its finished before sending it to a still unknown paintshop. So now I'm just protecting things.
Repaired a small area
(Other way around)
I'm starting to know a bit more what's going on in the rear floor area, but it's still a mess in my head and on the Mini too...
And finally, the best thing to avoid welding sparks getting in your shoes and burn your skin!
