New clutch master
I had trouble with my brake and slave masters when I got them. I didn't know about bench bleeding to prime them before installing. I ran a short line from the outlets and back into the bottom of the reservoir, had someone pump the pedal until bubbles stopped. I got a 2' brake line from the parts store and cut it in half and twisted it to fit. Doing it this way the brake fluid is contained and less of a chance of a spill on the new paint. Of course use lots of rags just in case especially when disconnecting the short lines to connect your car brake lines.
Moss has some good videos on the process
I hate brake fluid

Oh, I didn't know that, anyways I installed both of them and now the lines are full of fluid, I'll have to bleed them like that because, like you, I loathe brake fluid

The clutch line is bled and it now works fine.
I found out that the old washer hoses were leaking, probably because they were hard and dry, so I replaced them with new ones. Now the washer bottle is the worst looking thing under the bonnet. I may do something about it later but it's really not the priority.

While investigating on the reverse lamp, I found that I put the yoke upside down in the gear shift mecanism?! That's why I felt the gear lever was really feeling loose. So I fixed that after removing the carpet, the gear lever, the split pin...

And after testing the switch for the reverse lamp, I tested the current all the way to the rear but the lamp didn't turn on. Turns out that the bulb was just not pushed in properly.

Rest assured, you are not the only one to do that!
