Installed the lights panel with new rubber seal

And installed the boot lid. I don't really like the fit of the rubber as it's really hard to close the boot and the fit seems too tight. It is the later type seal that fits on the body. I may buy the old type that fits on the boot panel just to try and compare the two.

Installed the rear bumper while at it.

I received a brand new glass for the left door as the old one was a bit too scratched for my taste, so I began to dress the door up.

I'm a bit bothered by the new glass as it's no straight on top, so it doesn't close as much as it should. We'll see what it does on the road.

I also raised the rear suspension a bit as I found it too close to the arches.

Ahhh, question, what's the best way to keep it from rubbing if you DO want it low - I have GAZ shocks so assume have to make them extra hard - issue - impacts the ride handling:(
Thoughts ??

I tubbed the rear arches, so I want to get it as low as practically possible, but I prefer to start high as I do have new rubber cones all around and they are known to settle when driving. Then I want to see how the car clears the speed bumps around my town. So I prefer to start high and not crush a fuel line or brake line. I too have GAZ shocks. I put them on the softest setting first, and I'll see

This weekend I put the exhaust muffler in place and the backup light. I found places to put the fuel vent pipes through the boot floor too.

Still preparing for the engine to go in. I realized that these wires going to the left side lights would probably touch the radiator once in place...not good. Why did I do that? So I took the time to reroute them

I investigated why the windscreen washer pump did not work. There wasn't any current going to its wire when the button was pressed. Luckily I had another switch stalk around that I could try, and it worked! So there's that changed. The wiper stalk is the easiest to change. Still, while there's current going to the pump, the pump doesn't work. Needs a new pump then...

While at it, I put a splash of plasti dip on the steering column cover, that looked really tired

Received a nice box
First, a new air filter
Then a new thermostat housing and it's bracket holding the radiator shroud

Then a little disappointment. I thought those handles were the same length as the originals... As I don't want to make other holes in my new door cards, I'll leave it as is for now. I have two choices, either I keep the plastic handles and resell the metal kit or I try to make aluminium handles myself at the correct length. I'll see this summer.
