Prepared the area for a new scuttle corner

While removing the A panels I didn't have choice to lose the lip that it sits on. So I had to build a new one.
I bended the A panel and made a mockup of the lip...
In place

By the way, I just picked up a solid steel used "rover" bonnet as I found the one on my 77 is the flimsy after market stuff and never ever fits properly. I am changing as had a bonnet flip on the road as latch was not holding properly (pervious owner - ughh) and slightly dented it, impossible to fix as the aluminum is so thin feels like cheap cardboard paper?
Not sure if anyone else experienced the same.

That area on the A post was very ugly so I prepared it for the A panel to sit on it.

Now came the time to fit everything at once

I figured that something was too long between the A panel and the wing, so I settled on shortening the wing by about 1mm. I cut the flange and made a new one

modified the scuttle corner a bit

After much work with the wing, I was left with not too bad bonnet gaps. Everything was clamped and screwed, not welded yet.

Now to the left side. The door by itself looked worse...

I straightened the gap with welds

This was bad, needed more violent solution

I had the same problem with the wing being too long. I didn't need to remove the wing completely so I shortened the A panel this time

Acheived good results.

After everything was clamped and screwed together (not welded) I called back my body guy so he could come and take a look. After the second call I got tired of hearing his excuses so I won't call back...
I found someone else via another Mini guy and he came within days. I did not tell him my story and he said himself that when a car comes in his garage, he doesn't forget about it, he works on it. I already have a better feeling.
I started welding the front.

Ok everything is welded and ready. I got most of the car to bare metal, except the roof and openings. It's ready to go to bodyshop #2
