hey guys,

i ahev a 1984 mayfair 998cc

what distance shoudl i adjust my spark plugs too as i have amisfire and im just doing this to see if it solves the problem.

imperial or metric dont mind got both measuring

I was pretty sure it was 0.8mm but did a search to confirm and found conflicting answers.

Actually got mine set at 0.9 but Im running Lucas gold coil and electronic ignition which can stand a wider gap.

I'd go for 0.8 see how you get on.

My copy of Haynes only lists Champion, says for alternative makes check manufactorers guide lines.


1984 should be NGK BP6ES which NGK stae 0.8mm gap
