Hi there people, I bought a mini couple of weeks ago and decided i needed more power, I ordered a Stage 1 kit from huddersfield mini spares and have been all day fitting the kit to the car, I also serviced the carburettor and refitted it, when it came to starting the car i had the problem, I tried to turn it over and it was turning ok, but not starting, i was thinking everythin was ok, maybe needed time for fuel to go through the carb, after while it started, but the second i would rev it it would die out and misfire and i would have to frantically pump the pedal to stop it from stalling, if i held my foot at say halfway it would misfire and rev up slowly and then all of a sudden rev ok, pull my foot off and it would die, this was ok when i actually fitted the Choke cable back Silly me

But this is the real problem i took it for a spin bout 15mins ago, I started ok, a bit of misfire going up the hill (cold maybe?) and when i came to the point where i usually turn around the lights started flickering and engine started to misfire, started comeing towards home and id just cut out lights, Ignition, Engine the whole lot, luckly i was on a hill and decided to jump start it, started up and i decided to floor it, before it cut out again, i did make it home but all the way the engine wanted to stall and the lights where flickering!!!

Thats a mini adventure i dont want again lol
Any help will be appreciated

What most people don't realise is that a Stage 1 kit allows your engine to breathe more, thus leaning out the mixture. You have to have your car rolling road tuned to get the best from a Stage 1 kit.
