Hi everyone,

Just finished for the weekend painting my engine bay in cellulose primer. I haven't had time to put on any top coats, and would like to put a few more coats of high build primer on...

I am going on holiday next weekend, so the next time I will be able to get back to a painting session is 2-3 weeks away. I may be able to do 1 coat in the evenings for the next few days, but that involves pulling the car out the garage and re-organizing everything, so is a lot of work for 1 coat.

The car is indoors, in a dry, warm garage, and I was wondering whether it would be ok to leave the primer exposed for a few weeks before I apply a top coat?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Jamie.

I'm no expert but it should be fine.

Mine has been in primer for the best part of 5 months now and it's outside under a cover.

Primer is porous but if you're in a dry warm garage can't see a problem. Maybe cover with a clean dry cloth to prevent dust etc.

The paint experts will tell you if its different.

Regards

Steve

Prime is porous but like what is said before, if it in a dry garage then it should be to bad, it shouldn't cause any problems.
