Hi people, took the head off my mini today as it need re-drilling around the thermostat housing. I decided to clean the pistons off, and stamped on the top ring of the pistons ar + .03 in the center of the pistons it has stamped
TRW-175-9799-1
JGO.03
The pistons are dished as its a 1275. Anyone know what pistons they are?
Thanks

A series I assume, rather than A+, not many A+'s would have been bored to +30, most +20... but very common in A series. It's a standard overbore size.

You should try Thorntons of Shrewsbury (F.W. Thornton Ltd). You may have to measure the ring widths and depths and get aftermarket ones. I had some original Rover pistons for which none of the usual Mini parts suppliers could provide a ring set, but Thorntons supplied a set made by Hastings, an excellent U.S.A. based company for a very sensible price.

Hi I have a new mini with 1275 A+ per code on block and we just put new aluminum head on it with 1.5 roller tips. The pistons are stamped TRW-175-9797-1 JGO.03 can some one tell me what size this motor is now?
